The Union of African and African Caribbean Organisations (UAACO) grew out of the The African-Caribbean Special Interest Forum which was formed in July 2001 to share and develop skills that will facilitate a better quality of life for the African and African Caribbean people.

The Union comprises of a diversity of African and other languages and cultures, and members are from a variety of professional backgrounds including health, social care, education and employment, training of different levels and subjects, and business expertise.
